Dr. Rick Lewis D.V.M. M.S. B.S

-Dr. Lewis Graduated from the University of Turin - Torino Italy in 1981. He began his career as a staff veterinarian at Lewis Veterinary Hospital in 1982. In 1990 he became co-owner of the hospital later selling it to VCA in 1995. He worked as an Independent contractor until 2000 when he purchased Academy Animal Hospital. Dr. Lewis is very involved in the community working with local rescue groups. He has received awards for Best Veterinary Hospital; The Good Doctor Award; and Volunteer Veterinarian of the Year. He was previously commander of the Homeland Security Veterinary Medical Assistance Team and is now their Veterinary Medical Officer.

Dr. James Heilbron D.V.M

Dr. Heilbron graduated from Va-Md regional college in 1992. He was certified by IVAS for vet acupuncture in 1991. In 2001, Dr. Heilbron was Penn HIP certified. He has been practicing for over 16 years and is experienced in exotic veterinary medicine. Dr. James Heilbron has been an Academy Team member for ten years.

Dr. Judith O' Brien D.V.M

Dr. O'Brien graduated from VA-MD regional college of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1997. In the 10 years before becoming an Academy team member, She worked full time in several area animal hospitals and spent a year doing relief work. She is a devoted cat owner and is very knowledgeable about tropical fish.
